Technical FAQs

Do I need to enable JavaScript and cookies?

The Tenth Leaf uses JavaScript and cookies to keep track of your progress and to provide special effects to enhance your enjoyment of the treasure hunt. While it isn't absolutely necessary to enable cookies and JavaScript, you will find that many of the features do not work if you don't - it's up to you!

Why isn't my progress saved?

If you allow it, Tenthleaf saves cookies (small items of data) onto your computer to indicate that you have unlocked the different chapters of the book. It can only do this if you have cookies enabled.

I think I know the answer! What should I do?

This will be announced nearer the launch date.

The site looks strange. The special effects don't work!

The Tenth Leaf is highly graphical and uses some of the latest web technologies to provide a richly featured environment. I recommend that you download the latest version of your favorite web browser so that you can take full advantage of these features.

What if I want to work on several computers?

If you have unlocked several chapters on one computer, you will be able to submit the unlock code of the last chapter using a form that will be available from the Treasure hunt start page. All earlier chapters will then be unlocked.

I've signed up for the newsletter but I haven't received it yet!
